THE VIRTUES OF OUR PRICY PEAR
Why is it so good for your hair?
We have selected the prickly pear as the main active ingredient of our moisturizing hair care because it is particularly effective for actively and uniquely hydrating the hair and scalp. The active extracted from this medicinal plant is also more moisturizing than Glycerin, a dermatological reference molecule. It is the most effective moisturizing active ingredient in skincare and haircare that lack water.
A WORD FROM THE EXPERT
An active with moisturizing power superior to that of glycerin, which fixes water at the heart of the hair fiber. This bioinspired active with patented moisturizing properties comes from Prickly Pear cultivated in organic farming.

The Prickly Pear, the ally of dehydrated and dull hair
Prickly Pear tree is a medicinal plant with recognized moisturizing properties. It has a unique double action:
- it retains water at the heart of the fiber,
- it creates a hydration shield on the surface.
Result? The hair is intensely hydrated, shiny and radiant with health.
What is the difference between dry hair and dehydrated hair?
We often confuse dry hair with dehydrated hair. However, these are two very different hair issues:
- Dry hair mainly lacks lipids. It is brittle and rough, giving the hair a dull and fragile appearance. Dry hair is often caused by too low sebum production or by high exposure to external aggressions.
- Dehydrated hair mainly lacks water. It has frizz, is dull and can be electric. Dehydrated hair is often caused by a weakened capillary sheath with detached cuticles that let the water contained in the hair escape.
Capillary dehydration is a poorly understood phenomenon, because dehydrated hair does not lack lipids and can become fatty. It is therefore common for the problem to be difficult to identify.
The Prickly Pear cactus for the scalp
If moisturizing your skin is a reflex, hydrating your scalp is not one. Often neglected at the expense of hair, a scalp also needs care. The lack of hydration in the scalp is due to an impaired skin barrier, causing dehydration which is characterized by a lack of flexibility and sensations of tension or discomfort. Not to be confused with a dry scalp, which is lacking nutrition.
Why use specific care for dehydrated hair
Dehydrated hair, which is recognized by its lack of shine and its dull appearance, does not have the same needs at all as dry hair. On the contrary, applying nourishing care to dehydrated hair risks making the hair heavy due to excess lipids.
Care for dehydrated hair targets both the supply of water in the hair fiber and the strengthening of cuticles to prevent this water from evaporating.
What is the action of the Prickly Pear tree on hair?
The prickly pear cactus is an ideal active ingredient for dehydrated hair because its molecules absorb water and penetrate with this water into the hair fiber. They then form a protective film that helps the cuticles to seal and regain their smooth appearance, thus better reflecting the light, for a mirror shine.
Prickly Pear care are therefore both moisturizing and brightening, since they bring to your hair the right amount of hydration that it needs, giving them back all their shine.
How to integrate our prickly pear care into your hair routine?
Prickly pear cactus can have multiple applications in your daily hair routine:
In shampoo to moisturize your hair with each wash and reveal their shine.
In conditioner to boost the shine of your hair and detangle it in a flash.
In a mask for hydration at the heart of the fiber and brighten the hair.
In a serum to protect your hair from heating devices (up to 200°C) and to apply daily as a touch-up to restore hydration and shine.
Did you know ?
The prickly pear is native to Mexico but has since spread to various parts of the world, notably in the Mediterranean, Australia and South Africa. In many cultures, the Prickly Pear is associated with symbols of protection, strength and resilience due to its ability to thrive in harsh and particularly arid environments.
