What does it look like?

Native to the southern valleys of the Himalayas and Indochina, the citron tree was introduced to Persia several centuries BC. The Greeks were the first to cultivate it, and it was not until much later that oranges and lemons appeared.

The citron is a large, oval, bumpy fruit that can weigh up to 4 kg. It grows slowly, with citron trees bearing fruit after around three years. Its skin is thicker and less smooth than that of a lemon and covered with protuberances.

Its acidic green or yellow pulp cannot be used to make juice. Citron and its zest are eaten candied in pastries, confectionery, jams, and liqueurs, while its essence is used in perfumery. For external use, citron is known for its toning and cleansing properties.

THE VIRTUES OF OUR CITRON

Why is it so good for your hair?

Our new consumption habits generate pollution, hard water, and dust that settle on the hair, weighing it down and damaging it, thereby stimulating sebum production in the scalp.

We have selected Corsican citron for its benefits, the softness of its pulp, and its energizing and detoxifying properties. It is harvested exclusively by hand, just before ripeness when it is still bright green, bursting with amino acids and vitamins thanks to the sunshine of the Isle of Beauty. We use the whole crushed fruit to obtain a golden-colored citron extract at our factory in Gaillac in the Tarn region, which helps restore vitality to the hair and combat oxidative stress, which damages the hair shaft.

A WORD FROM THE EXPERT

Citron shampoo brings tone, lightness, and vitality, just like when you eat it! It even removes pollution and limescale, making it the perfect ingredient for featherweight hair care and hair full of energy.

Did you know ?

The citron could be the forbidden fruit of the Garden of Eden. It was used by the Romans for essential oils and as an antidote, disinfectant, and antiseptic, as well as for magical and ritual purposes. It is also called the “apple of Media” by Alexander the Great, who introduced it to the Middle East.
