Aquatic Mint

This perennial plant with a strong and characteristic mint scent is also known as "river balm". It grows abundantly in moist soils, along streams and rivers, making it an indicator plant for the presence of water. It flowers from July to October.

Mint has been used traditionally around the world for centuries for its many refreshing, antiseptic and stimulating properties. More recently, it is used in the phyto-purification of wastewater ponds.
